The new Hot Wheels Remote Control Terrain Twister Vehicle is featured in the Toys R Us Hot Toys List of 2012. What’s so special about this toy to get it included in one of the most famous annual hot toy list in the world?
When I checked it out, I was amazed with it. It was a very unusual remote control vehicle. It was the first time I have seen one like this. Not only is its shape very unique and very unusual but it has the amazing ability to travel in almost any terrain!
It’s remote control has two joy sticks. With the left joy stick on the remote you can make this Terrain Twister move in 8 different directions. It can go forward or backwards or even sidewards, left or right. It can also do these things in water and also do full 360 degree spin in the water! That maybe fun. With so many abilities, I think it will take some time getting used to and become a master in maneuvering this thing.
With all this the Terrain Twister has its limitations too. They say to only operate it in calm clear water and never used it in sea water. (I wonder why sea water. Does the salt or something affect the plastic body?)
I think Toys R Us has chosen this twister to feature in their Toy Hot List of 2012 as their remote control toy vehicle of choice, after putting it through lot of tests and with good reason. Toys R Us toy stores sell hundreds of thousands of toys. They may have hundreds of remote control vehicle models alone. So they can’t and will not just recommend a product in their hot list without reason. By including a product in their hot list, they stake their reputation with customers as well as other major toy manufacturers like Hot Wheels who also have their own similar remote controls.
There are other similar RC toy vehicles like this in the market like, Tyco Radio Control Terrain Twister and Terrainiac Radio Control Vehicle to name a few.
This picture is from its TV commercial. Like it says in its TV ad, this remote control all Terrain Twister can travel in water and land, through dirt, grass, mud, sand and snow! That’s quite a remarkable achievement. It can perform like this with an almost insane speed and power in so many terrains thanks to its front-and rear-power pivot controls and corkscrew-shaped tread technology for full-throttle fun!
I even saw it jump down steps, so I think you will be able to make it jump down your staircase at home without damaging it. I don’t think there are many remote control toys like this that can withstand the abuse it will go through.
